In September 2012, Xerox introduced the Phaser 7100 color laser printer. Print speeds were OEM-rated 30 pages per minute (ppm) for both black and color, and duty cycles at 52,000 pages per month.
Printers ship with starter cartridges yielding 3,000 pages (color) and 5,000 pages (black), and two drum units yielding 24,000 pages each (one for black and one for color). Replacement cartridges are available in 4,500 page yield (color) and 5,000 page yield (black). High yield SKUs are available, but only as a two-pack of standard yield cartridges. There is also a waste cartridge that, like the two drums, carries an OEM-stated yield of 24,000. All toner cartridges require a chip for correct printer operation.
