Reset procedure for the Ricoh SP1200 / 1210 drum unit. The procedure below will reset your drum counter back to zero and thus allow you to keep using your drum unit long after the "Change Drum" message appears. It will not fix any print quality issues it will simply allow you to keep printing - beyond the standard life of the drum unit.

1.Remove the drum unit and toner cartridge. Wait 30 seconds.2.Replace the drum unit and toner cartridge into printer.3.The error message "Change Drum Soon/Drum end soon" will continue to appear if the drum counter was not reset when you replaced the drum unit.4.To clear this error message, you need to reset the drum counter via the printers control panel. 5.Make sure that the machine is turned on.6.Press C / Return (↺) Clear / Back. 7. To confirm you are installing a new drum, press ▲. 8.When the LCD shows Accepted, close the front cover. 9.Your drum is now reset.
Resetting the drum unit will not improve print quality. It only resets your drum and allows you to continue to print. You can now decide when to replace the drum unit not the manufacturer!
